Spectrophotometer Calibration Capabilities:

  • Photometric Accuracy In The UV And VIS Range (200-700nm)
  • Wavelength Accuracy In The UV And VIS Range (240-640nm)
  • Stray Light Performance For UV And VIS Range (200-700nm)

Spectrophotometer Calibration

As an ISO 17025 Accredited laboratory, Precision Calibration Systems will provide comprehensive spectrophotometer calibration to ensure that all critical parameters of machine performance are within specification. Accurate measurement and reporting is vital in any photometric analysis, and PCS has the knowledge and experience necessary to verify the performance of your equipment.  With multiple laboratories and the fastest turnaround time in the industry, PCS helps mitigate the cost of machine downtime and delayed production.  In addition, we provide on-site services at your location, allowing our technicians to evaluate site-specific variables that can affect spectrophotometer reliability and performance.

Spectrophotometer Calibration Includes the Following:

  • Photometric Accuracy

Our technicians will test the photometric accuracy of your spectrophometer at 10 specified wavelengths from 200nm to 700nm which covers both the UV and VIS range.

  • Wavelength Accuracy

Using Holmium Oxide filters, we will provide 10 NIST-compliant peak values for wavelength accuracy. Points range from 240nm to 640nm and cover both the UV and VIS range. This calibration includes the all-important 241.5nm wavelength peak needed for DNA measurements.

  • Stray Light

Transmittance of light above a specified wavelength is measured through the use of a neutral density filter designed to assess the stray light performance of your spectrometer.

Ongoing preventative maintenance is just as important as calibration, and PCS will assist you in developing a plan to ensure continued optimal performance of your machine.

During the Calibration, Our Technicians Will Perform the Following:

  • Thorough Cleaning Of The Machine Exterior

  • Cleaning Of The Projector And Detector Lenses

  • Assuring Proper Cuvette Fitment Relative To The Light Path

  • Replacement Of Projector Bulb (If Necessary)

  • Verify That Machine Placement And Environment Is Conducive To Repeatable Measurements

Spectrophotometers

or “spectrometers” are one of the most relied upon pieces of equipment in today’s modern laboratory.  We realize that the accuracy and performance of such an important tool cannot be compromised or left to chance.  At PCS, we use state of the art solid state “nano-deposition” filters to provide an in depth look at the photometric accuracy, wavelength accuracy and stray light performance of your machine. We have the capability to verify up to 10 points of photometric accuracy, wavelength accuracy and stray light performance in both the ultraviolet and visible light spectral bands. All standards are traceable to the SI through NIST and conform to ISO-17025.  Our state of the art standards coupled with our expertise in the field allow PCS to provide the most accurate and comprehensive calibration in the industry.

We Routinely Calibrate the Following Manufacturers / Models of Spectrophotometers:

  • Thermo-Scientific Spectronic

  • Thermo-Scientific Gynesys

  • Perkin Elmer

  • Hach Company

  • Agilent

  • Analytik

  • Many others!

Accreditation and Documentation

All calibrations are traceable to the SI through NIST, (National Institute of Standard and Technology) and include “long form” calibration certificates with as-found/as-left data. ISO 17025 accredited calibration is available upon request. We also offer a web based calibration interface, “e-certificates” that gives you access to electronic copies of your calibration certificates which can be viewed and printed at your convenience. Standard turnaround time is 48 hours.
ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 CERTIFICATE & SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION

The team at PCS is willing to work hard, when it matters most, to ensure our state crime laboratory system continues to meet stringent ISO accreditation requirements.
