Spectrophotometer Calibration Services
Spectrophotometer Calibration
As an ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited laboratory, Precision Calibration Systems will provide comprehensive spectrophotometer calibration to ensure that all critical parameters of machine performance are within specification. Accurate measurement and reporting is vital in any photometric analysis, and PCS has the knowledge and experience necessary to verify the performance of your equipment. With multiple laboratories and the fastest turnaround time in the industry, PCS helps mitigate the cost of machine downtime and delayed production. In addition, we provide on-site services at your location, allowing our technicians to evaluate site-specific variables that can affect spectrophotometer reliability and performance.
Spectrophotometers, or “spectrometers”, are one of the most relied upon pieces of equipment in today’s modern laboratory. At PCS, we use state of the art solid state “nano-deposition” filters to provide an in depth look at the photometric accuracy, wavelength accuracy and stray light performance of your machine. We have the capability to verify up to 10 points of photometric accuracy, wavelength accuracy and stray light performance in both the ultraviolet and visible light spectral bands. All standards are traceable to the SI through NIST and conform to ISO-17025. Our state of the art standards coupled with our expertise in the field allow PCS to provide the most accurate and comprehensive calibration in the industry.
We Routinely Calibrate the Following Manufacturers / Models of Spectrophotometers:
-
Thermo-Scientific Spectronic
-
Thermo-Scientific Gynesys
-
Perkin Elmer

Spectrophotometer Calibration Includes the Following:
Photometric Accuracy
Our technicians will test the photometric accuracy of your spectrophometer at 10 specified wavelengths from 200nm to 700nm which covers both the UV and VIS range.
Wavelength Accuracy
Using Holmium Oxide filters, we will provide 10 NIST-compliant peak values for wavelength accuracy. Points range from 240nm to 640nm and cover both the UV and VIS range. This calibration includes the all-important 241.5nm wavelength peak needed for DNA measurements.
Stray Light
Transmittance of light above a specified wavelength is measured through the use of a neutral density filter designed to assess the stray light performance of your spectrometer.
Ongoing preventative maintenance is just as important as calibration, and PCS will assist you in developing a plan to ensure continued optimal performance of your machine.
